HoS Patch 0.99:
After the successful launch of version 0.98 last Tuesday, we decided to bring you another small update to improve the live version with the extremely useful gameplay data we collected during the first days of launch. There have been many smaller fixes in this patch and if you did not read the notes on the Features we added (like Hero Skins, Ranking System, the new Hero Niomi), you should scroll down right now and read all about it on this page.

Ranking System Update

  • We straightened out our Ranking System calculation.
  • Added a limit of how much you can increase Rank per game.
  • Calculation now takes into account your relative Rank compared to your team.
  • You can now actually lose a Rank. But not if you have good scores yourself.
  • You have to be in a game for at least 30 seconds to gain Rank.
  • Leaving a game early will still reduce/increase your rank. Don't leave games early.
  • Due to these changes, our current rankings will be reset with the launch of the patch.
  • We are sorry for the reset, but some of your scores have just gone through the roof :)

Removed in-game Items for Gold

  • You can no longer buy in-game Items for Gold. We heard your feedback so it is gone.
  • Context: Heroes of Soulcraft will never be Pay2Win. Though the in-game Gold system was never really a system that allowed you to win by throwing money at the screen, it is currently not clear enough, that when other people pay with Gold, they gift you the same amount of Gold and you can do exactly the same for free. We will be working on a way to better communicate these systems in the future. Just remember for now, that if an enemy revives with Gold, you get a free revive as well. And that ultimately means less death-timers and more action!

Update: Gold Packs

  • Amount of Gold granted by Gold packs increased. Available Packs:
  • 500 Gold
  • 1200 Gold
  • 3200 Gold
  • 9500 Gold

Reduced Hero Gold Prices

  • We have adjusted (reduced!) the Gold prices for all Heroes.
  • Maximum regular price is now 1950 Gold, newly released Heroes are still 2500 Gold.
  • Real-money prices are unchanged and still on -30% Sale.

Niomi: The Voodoo witch has been performing too well, while still not being overrepresented. While people are getting used to her new mechanics, we don't want to change her too drastically though.

Skill: Soul Seek

  • Dash flat Damage reduced to (80/120/160 + 80%) from (100/150/200 + 80%).

Titan: Sword of Damocles

  • The new Sword of Damocles Titan is now Niomi's default Titan.
  • Remember that you can change Titans once you own a Hero.

Shakkur: The faceless assassin can almost one-hit certain Heroes if he goes a full damage build. We are reducing some of his insane single-target burst damage to give his enemies a chance to react.

Skill: Execute / Jump

  • Damage reduced to (100/200/300 + 120%) from (100/200/300 + 150%).

Dalia: The sun hasn't been shining enough on Dalia for a while. We are moving her out of the dark corner and up close to the window by buffing her ability to burst targets in clumped up teamfights with her Root skill.

Skill: Roots

  • Increased flat damage to 100/150/200 from 50/100/150.
  • Increased scaling damage to 1.0/1.25/1.5 from 1.0/1.2/1.4.
  • Note: Targets marked by her passive roots still take 50% bonus damage when caught in the activation circle. First mark your targets by walking up close, then activate the skill to maximize damage.

Toxurr: The alchemist is in a solid spot. He can devastate an entire enemy team if he hits his skills just right, but gets destroyed if overwhelmed by assassins. We are giving him some more consistency by giving the underwhelming Chain Reaction skill more slowing power.

Skill: Chain Reaction

  • Slow amount increased to 50% from 40%.
  • Slow duration increased to 2.0/2.5/3.0 from 1.5/2.0/2.5 seconds.

Jin Long: Reverting an earlier nerf and increasing the power of his Meditation ability. We realized the nerf did him no good and are instead giving him the ability to heal up very efficiently with his meditation.

Skill: Dragonpunch

  • Reverted slow amount to 35% at all ranks from 15/25/35%. Those punches hurt!

Skill: Meditate

  • Heal amount increased to 100/150/200 per second from 40/100/140.
  • Channeled for 2 seconds at all levels now, still disabling all other skills for the duration.

Targas: As a true tank, Targas is now the only Hero that has more base armor than the other Heroes. Should help him be more tanky early and enables him to even go a damage item route more easily now.

Base Stats Buffed

  • Changed Base Health to 1100 (+70 per level) from 1000 (+75 per level).
  • Increased Base Armor to 39 (+1 per level) from 24 (+1 per level).
  • Increased Base Health Regeneration to 5 from 4 per second.
  • Note: Out of combat all Health Regeneration is doubled for all Heroes.

Ellyn: Cleaning up the Hammerfall ability, that would have a slightly bigger radius than the effect would tell the player. As a major AoE-burst ability we felt is was too strong and tuned the power down ever so slightly, when it is fully channeled.

Skill: Hammerfall

  • Fixed the radius at which the skill hits enemies.
  • Radius is now smaller and fits more to the effect.
  • Damage increase when charging the skill went down by ~15%.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed Phoenix Toxurr not being available after you purchased the Supporter Bundle.
  • Fixed some Heroes being able to attack while stunned.
  • Fixed: Shakkur Dagger throw would root you in place for 1 second.
  • Fixed: Spirit Wolf Titan effect would play for longer than the stun duration.
